My late father was a Veteran and fought for this country. He was also a Black Man, who was never given as much respect shown to him by White-Americans, generally speaking, as White Americans show to the National Anthem or the American flag my father carried as a military soldier. White Americans, generally speaking, appear more concerned about "patriotism" than "people" Black people. How can White people demand such respect for the National Anthem or the flag without demanding that same respect for people, Black People? This is the fundamental question in the Collin Kaepernick matter, and for us as a Nation at large. - Alice Belcher
