Blogging with Dr. Belcher
Alice Belcher is an inspiring writer. Here you can read some of her writing on subjects of employment, business, social justice, community development and family empowerment.
I thought that in America, Americans had the right to protest for rights. The peaceful protest by Americans in Charlottesville Virginia was countered by murder and hate. The silent and peaceful protest by one NFL Player was countered by the loss of his livelihood and means of support.
No one should be mowed down like grass by a speeding driver using his car as a weapon to kill peaceful protesters of racism in America. No one should be denied opportunity to work because they silently and peacefully exercised their freedom of speech in protest of racism in America by taking a knee.
These are civil rights violations of individuals that are impactful upon these individual Americans lives immensely, and it shocks the conscience of a civil society.
American lives and our civil liberties and constitutional rights must be protected, as promised under our United States Constitution and Amendments.
We must preserve the right to EXERCISE our FREEDOM OF SPEECH and the RIGHT TO ASSEMBLE without retaliation.
